Wine Enthusiast Reviews Spade&Bushel and Brothership Blended Whiskey

Posted

The upcoming March 2017 issue of the Wine Enthusiast Magazine, a leading wine and spirit publication in the US, features Irish whiskey and two brands from the Connacht Whiskey Company received wonderful reviews.

Brothership 10 year Old Blended Whiskey received an outstanding 90 score and the following tasting notes:

This unusual bottling comprises 55% Irish whiskey and 45% American whiskey, both 10 years old. Look for a citrusy aroma with a hint of smoke. The palate shows lots of bright tropical fruit, lemon curd and pear, with a whiff of smoke, and finishing with drying oak and ginger heat. Sip or mix.

Spade&Bushel Single Malt 10 year Old Irish Whiskey also came up big with an 89 score and the following review:

The fragrance of fresh-cut apples leads the nose. On the palate, look for green apple, pear and grass perked up with herbaceous and menthol notes, plus a hint of smoke, smoothed with fleeting honey and vanilla-mint sweetness. The drying finish combines spearmint, ginger and black pepper heat. Limited edition.
